Katelyn Crawford is a mezzo soprano / soprano, classical guitarist and composer based in Adelaide, and a PhD candidate studying classical voice performance and pedagogy at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, supported by the provision of an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship.
In 2022, she completed an Honours Degree of Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice) with first class honours at the Elder Conservatorium, under the guidance of soprano Rosalind Martin. Katelyn also completed a Diploma in Languages (German Studies) with Advanced German at the University of Adelaide in 2021, and a Graduate Diploma in Music (Performance and Pedagogy) in classical voice at the Elder Conservatorium in 2023.
During her classical voice studies, Katelyn was awarded a number of prizes by the Elder Conservatorium, as well as The George Boland Scholarship in 2023. Katelyn also received a Lunch Hour Award in the Recitals Australia Lunch Hour Series Autumn Season 2022, and participated in the Recitals Australia Elder Conservatorium Fellowship Program for 2023/2024. As a part of the Fellowship Program, Katelyn presented a recital in the 2024 Adelaide Fringe.
Katelyn performed the role of La Zelatrice in Puccini’s opera 'Suor Angelica' with Mopoke Theatre Productions in 2022, and was a member of the chorus in Verdi’s 'Messa da Reqiuem' in the 2023 Adelaide Festival. She also performed the role of Kicva in the world premiere of the opera 'The Curse on Dyved' by Christopher Wicks in the 2024 Adelaide Fringe.
Katelyn regularly performs art song recitals at North Adelaide Baroque Hall and through Recitals Australia. Katelyn also performs at ceremonies, concerts and functions around Adelaide.
