Kate Walker brings to Adelaide University over 16 years of clinical experience across Australia and the United Kingdom, working with voice, swallowing disorders, middle airway disorders and acquired communication disorders. She has worked in acute care, rehabilitation, community care and private practice. Alongside their academic role, Kate works in private practice with a focus on gender-affirming voice and communication, voice rehabilitation, middle airway disorders, and holistic care for aerodigestive conditions.
At Adelaide University, Kate coordinates and teaches into the voice and swallowing courses in the Speech Pathology Program. They are committed to inclusive, student-centred education, embedding Universal Design for Learning principles and fostering collegial learning environments.
