Dr Karamjit Kaur’s expertise lies in the areas of industrial interoperability, digital twins, Industry 4.0, asset life cycle management and condition-based maintenance in the asset-intensive industries such as Oil & Gas industry. She was an FEnEx CRC Foundation Fellow where she shared the responsibility to deliver Commonwealth milestones of FEnEx CRC within the Digital Technologies & Interoperability theme, in addition to working on other industry-driven projects funded through FEnEx CRC.
In her role as research fellow in the Industrial AI Research Centre at UniSA, she has been actively involved in various projects related to achieving standards based interoperability in the Industry 4.0 systems and achieving digital transformation through delivery of digital twins for asset management throughout the lifecycle.
Karamjit obtained her Bachelors, Masters and PhD in Computer Science from Thapar University, India. She completed her PhD in 2015 on the topic “A Novel Framework for Querying Multi-paradigm Databases”. She has successfully supervised research thesis of 11 Masters and 2 PhD students. In addition to research, Karamjit has been involved in teaching wide range of courses related to computers science and engineering since 2009. Currently, she is tutor, practical supervisor and course coordinator of multiple courses that are taught as part of Bachelors and Masters of Information Technology at UniSA.
She has received various research and travel grants such as Google Global scholarship for presenting her research work at GHC twice, International Travel Scheme for Young Scientist from DST, India.
