I am a PhD scholar at Adelaide University, Australia, with a research focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), environmental microbiology, and One Health surveillance. My current research integrates whole-genome sequencing, metagenomics, bioinformatics, and machine learning to investigate the emergence, transmission, and environmental dissemination of AMR in Pacific Island countries. I completed my MPhil in Microbiology at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan, where my research explored copper nanoparticle-induced antibiotic resistance in pathogenic bacteria. Prior to commencing my PhD, I worked as a Lecturer in Microbiology at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology, where I taught microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, and related life science subjects while supervising undergraduate research projects. My research interests include microbial genomics, environmental AMR surveillance, genomic epidemiology, bioinformatics, and the development of computational approaches to support evidence-based public health, environmental risk assessment, and biosecurity.
