Welcome to my homepage. I am an Associate Professor in Clinical Exercise Physiology here at UniSA. I have always been interested in the physiology of exercise and how this can influence human function and health. In addition to pursing this interest through teaching and research I have applied my interest practically in a number of modalities including performance enhancement, health and fitness coaching, and as an accredited clinical exercise physiologist working in private practice, hospital clinics, GP superclinics and university health practices. Today I mostly fulfil my passion for exercise and health through research to inform practice, educating new clinicians, and working to advance the profession through various collaborations and leadership roles. My research interest is broadly around understanding how Clinical Exercise Physiologists can best support people to enhance their health and manage chronic illness or disability. I pursue this through projects ranging from exploring mechanisms of action to informing health service models. I have also had the opportunity to advance this this agenda through key industry leadership roles including having been a Director, Vice President and President of the Board of Exercise and Sports Science Australia, and currently as a Director and inaugural Chair of the Board of the International Confederation of Sport and Exercise Science Practice.
