My research seeks to understand how Natural Selection and population history combine to shape genetic variation within and between populations. Currently I am developing statistical genetic and machine learning approaches to detect positive selection in diverse mammal and insect species. Previous and ongoing research projects include: local adaptation in chimpanzees; balancing selection in primates; population and quantitative genetics of pesticide resistance in drosophila.
My work uses theory and tools from population genetics, quantitative genetics and computational biology.
