I studied chemistry at the University of Oxford, followed by a PhD in organic chemistry with Prof. Karl Hale at University College London. I then returned to Oxford to work as a post-doc with Prof. Sir Jack Baldwin and Prof. Rob Adlington. In 2010 I joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Adelaide, where I am currently an Associate Professor.

Research Interests

We use biosynthetic speculation to help design cascade reactions for use in concise total syntheses of complex natural products. In addition, we collaborate with biochemists to help elucidate biosynthetic pathways, and to integrate biocatalytic reactions into our total syntheses. We also engage in the structure revision of old natural products and the isolation of new ones.
