John Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in Economics. His research interests include modelling special interest group behaviour, microeconomic models of corruption, and economic history.
John joined the University of South Australia in 2004 after completing his PhD in Economics at the University of Adelaide. He has numerous journal publications, is the holder of two current ARC LInkage Grant examining long run outcomes in Colonial Tasmania and South Australia totalling $1.44m, and has published three books examining sports economics.  In 2014 he was an invited contributor to the Cambridge Economic History of Australia.  He has also conducted funded research for the Victorian Department of Justice and for local government.
John previously has served as the Honorary Treasurer of the Economic Society of Australia (SA) and Secretary and member of the Executive of the Economic History Society of Australia and New Zealand.   He is currently an Associate Director for the Centre for Markets, Values and Inclusion at the University of South Australia and is a research affiliate of the Centre for Economic History at ANU.
