Project Title: Embracing Complexity; Redefining Project Management for Complex Realities

The need for Understanding project complexity is critical in implementing effective management strategies and selecting applicable frameworks. Project complexity can be driven by a diverse range of variables including, but not limited to, dynamic environments, stakeholder context and technology. In this context, project success heavily relies on effectively mitigating unfordable outcomes and managing expectations while delivering value to the performing organisation(s).

Complex projects are characterised by a unique set of characteristics that makes traditional project management approaches ineffective and therefore, there is a need for new frameworks and tools that can respond to the attributes of complex projects. One of the possible pathways to achieve this is through investigating the application of complexity theory in project management and utilising it to develop innovative frameworks. By assessing conventional frameworks in dynamic realities, the study seeks to create a new responsive framework and innovative framework that addresses the unique characteristics of complex projects and systems.
