Dr Joanna Brooks
Joanna is a Visiting Research Fellow at Adelaide Medical School, supervised by Professor Mark Hutchinson, Director, Centre for Nanoscale Biophotonics.

After completing her PhD in Human Cognitive Neuroscience in the United Kingdom, Joanna worked for an Australian General Practice Training Provider in Adelaide, and then received a Fellowship to lead a research program exploring dementia risk reduction.
Joanna has a PhD in Human Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh (2012), a Master of Research in Psychology from the University of St Andrews (2007), a Master of Science in Reading, Language and Cognition from the University of York (2004), a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (2002), and a Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults from the University of Cambridge (2004).

Psychology Honours Supervisor at the Australian National University.
Joanna has successfully co-supervised (with Dr Cobie Brinkman) a Psychology Honours student at the Australian National University on a thesis entitled: Spatial attention biases on the mental number line in healthy ageing adults.
Research Assistant Supervision
Joanna has successfully trained Research Assistants on many aspects of clinical assessment including the administration and interpretation of health assessments like the Mini-Mental State Examination for Mild Cognitive Impairment as well as standardised memory, attention and reaction time tasks.
