Jessica Mei Pung is a Research Fellow at UniSA Business. She is a member of the Centre for Enterprise Dynamics in Global Economies (C-EDGE). 
Her research expertise is in sociological issues in tourism, particularly transformative tourism, consumer behaviour in tourism and hospitality, and tourist experiences. She has conducted and published extensive research on tourism and hospitality management aspects including destination planning of regenerative tourism, peer-to-peer accommodation (Airbnb), tradition and innovation in SMEs, virtual reality and place attachment in heritage tourism.
Her current research projects include investigating cross-cultural wine tourism and agritourism experiences, and the role of events in residents' wellbeing and placemaking.
Jessica serves as Associate Editor for the European Journal of Tourism Research and she is in the editorial board of Tourism Management Perspectives, and Tourism Analysis, along with being a reviewer for numerous leading Tourism and Hospitality journals. 
Prior to her appointment at University of South Australia, Jessica worked as a Teaching Fellow and Assistant Research Fellow at the Department of Marketing of the University of Otago (New Zealand). At University of Otago, she also worked as Research Assistant for the Departments of Tourism, Management, and Finance of the Otago Business School, as well as in the Office of Student Success, and the Higher Education Development Centre. Jessica holds a PhD in Business and Economics from the University of Cagliari (Italy), and a Master of Science in Tourism Development from the University of Surrey (UK).
Jessica is available for co-supervising Doctoral or Masters by Research degree (HDR) candidates.
