Jess Nitschke is a Higher Degree by Research student at Stretton Health Equity in the Stretton Institute at Adelaide University. Her research focuses on the social determinants of suicide and suicide-related behaviours for Australian women. She comes to her role as an early-career researcher from a career spanning two decades of policy analysis, community-building, and consultancy roles across the public and for-purpose sectors. In the past, she advised South Australian government Ministers on workplace health, safety, and wellbeing. Her core research interest is how to redress growing health inequities.
