Jess Nitschke is a Higher Degree by Research student at Stretton Health Equity in the Stretton Institute at Adelaide University. Her research focuses on the social determinants of suicide and suicide-related behaviours for Australian women. She comes to her PhD from a career spanning two decades of policy analysis, community-building, and consultancy roles across the public and for-purpose sectors. In the past, she advised successive South Australian government Ministers on workplace health, safety, and wellbeing, as well as other Members of Parliament in South Australia and Victoria. Her core research interest is how to redress growing health inequities.
