Dr Janet Chunfang Xu is a Lecturer in Management at UniSA Business, specialising in international business, cross-cultural management, and strategic management. She also serves as an Academic Mentor within the Internships Team, providing academic guidance and professional mentoring to both undergraduate and postgraduate Business students.
Janet holds a PhD in Business and Management, an MBA in Strategy, and a Bachelor of Economics. Prior to commencing her doctoral studies, she accumulated over a decade of professional experience in various management roles across several international companies.
Her teaching and mentoring philosophy emphasises the value of work-integrated learning (WIL) as a bridge between academic knowledge and professional practice. She believes that authentic industry engagement enables students to apply theoretical insights in real-world contexts, fostering lifelong learning, personal development, and excellence in professional practice. Her teaching style is highly interactive and student-centred, encouraging active participation and reflective learning.
Beyond academia, Janet contributes to the community as a volunteer with the City of Prospect’s Digital Learning Program, where she enjoys engaging with and educating community members from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds in digital literacy and lifelong learning.
