Office of the Vice Chancellor
I have been involved in education for over 20 years, having worked in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Thailand for a variety of secondary and tertiary institutions.
I am currently the Manager: Student Support in the SEU. In this role I have responsibility for 3 service areas: Academic Learning Support, International Student Support and Accommodation Services. My teams and I are also involved in a number of university-wide projects focused on enhancing student support and engagement.
Prior to UniSA I worked at Massey University, New Zealand. As Regional Manager for the Centre for Professional and Continuing Education at Massey’s Palmerston North campus, I had overall responsibility for a range of academic pathway and ESOL programs, the IELTS testing centre and homestay services. In this role I oversaw the recruitment, management, performance and development needs of academic and administrative staff, developed domestic and international marketing plans and activities and undertook budgetary and financial responsibilities. As Manager, Academic and International Projects at Massey University I project managed the delivery of academic programs for offshore, blended delivery (online and face-to-face).
As a Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), I taught courses to postgraduate students, including First and Second Language Acquisition, Language Teaching Methodology, Syllabus and Curriculum Development and Language Testing. As the Intensive TESOL Program Coordinator at the USQ, my team and I designed, developed and instructed short courses which combined TESOL training, intensive English language development and cultural activities for international teachers of ESOL.
