Ms Jacqueline Aldis

Jacqueline JE Aldis - Senior Research Co-ordinator, BetterStart Group, The School of Public Health, Adelaide University.I commenced employment in the University Department of Paediatrics, Adelaide Children’s Hospital (now the Women’s and Children’s Hospital) in 1988, working in clinical and diagnostics within the Disciplines of Endocrinology, Immunology, Allergy, Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Pulmonary Medicine.In 1995 we established the Paediatric Trials Unit (now the Vaccinology and Immunology Research Trials Unit-VIRTU) and commenced double-blinded randomised trials in Vaccinology and Allergy. I worked as a Research Officer within our team and later as a Clinical Trials Co-ordinator. Our team played an integral part in the research that lead to our current National Immunisation Scheme program.In 2006, I joined the Child Nutrition Research Centre, Women’s and Children’s Hospital Research Institute, at both the Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital, and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, working with randomised trials in pregnancy and nutrition.In 2014, I joined the University of Adelaide, Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health, Adelaide Dental School as a Research Officer and Co-ordinator within ARCPOH and the Indigenous Oral Health Unit (IOHU), undergoing oral health studies with mothers, babies, children and general adult communities, in the metropolitan, regional and remote areas of SA and NT.
I was priviledged to join the BetterStart Group, School of Public Health, in 2020 as a Senior Research Co-ordinator, currently providing support to our Co-Directors and Grant-Funded research team.
