Isuru is a PhD candidate. For his MPhil, Isuru focused on the evolution of large-scale flow structures, where he investigated Uniform momentum zones (UMZs) in rapidly accelerating turbulent pipe flow. Building on his previous experience in DNS simulations, his PhD project investigates the transient flow dynamics of turbulent pulsatile pipe flows, focusing on enhancing the current understanding of the flow physics underlying unsteady turbulent pipe flows in both high and moderate Reynolds numbers. His goal is to enhance the efficiency of fluid transportation systems in the future. Isuru is interested in fluid mechanics and integrating machine learning into CFD.
