I Putu Abdi Bhuwana is a PhD student with a great interest in the intersection of well-being and education. Upon receiving his bachelor's degree in English Language Education, Putu expanded his research focus in well-being. Following this, his Master of Education research explored the effects of well-being on Indonesian students’ reading engagement, reading fluency, and reading performance in PISA 2018.

Intrigued with the cultural influence on the perception of well-being, Putu's PhD research aims to explore the Balinese conception of well-being, transform it into a model and instrument, and use it to investigate the well-being of students and teachers, factors contributing to them, and how they lead to students’ performance.

With his research, Putu aspires to empower educators and students to thrive in nurturing supportive learning environments leading to outstanding academic achievement.

Project Title: Formulation of Well-being Model and Instrument: Bridging Balinese Philosophy and Western Views of Well-being
