Hsing-An Liang is a PhD researcher at the Institute for Photonics, Advanced Sensing and Quantum Technologies (IPAS-QT), Adelaide University, working in the field of photonics and optical fibre sensing.
During his Honours research, he investigated optical loss in ZBLAN fluoride-glass preforms and fibres, with the aim of separating absorption and scattering contributions and developing measurement techniques for low-loss optical materials.
He is currently undertaking a PhD in photonics, focusing on optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) for distributed optical fibre sensing. His research involves the fibre characterisation using OFDR.
