Hsing-An Liang is a PhD researcher at the Institute for Photonics, Advanced Sensing and Quantum Technologies (IPAS), Adelaide University, working in the field of photonics and optical fibre sensing.
During his Honours research, he investigated optical loss in ZBLAN fluoride-glass preforms and fibres, with the aim of separating absorption and scattering contributions and developing measurement techniques for low-loss optical materials.
He is currently undertaking a PhD in photonics, focusing on optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) for distributed optical fibre sensing. His research involves the fibre characterisation using OFDR.
