Integration Management Office
Hooman Nikmehr received his BSc in Electronic Eng MSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Tehran in 1992 and 1997, respectively, and his PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 2005. He is an academic in the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Adelaide University, created through the merger of the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide.
- FPGA & reconfigurable hardware for real-time image/video processing (e.g., 2-D convolvers, Canny edge detection hardware).
- Approximate computing for energy/performance efficiency, especially approximate methods tailored to error-resilient workloads (notably image data).
- Memory hierarchy and cache architecture (e.g., cache compression/metrics) plus reliability/lifetime techniques for caches under aging effects.
- Digital arithmetic and precision-scalable DSP hardware.
