Professor Hong Shen's research interests include parallel and distributed computing, algorithms, privacy and security, data mining, high performance networks.

Main on-going research projects include the following lists: 

•   Privacy Preserving Computing (cloud, IoT, mobile devices, data mining, traffic classification)

•   Network Optimisation (path, topology, data distribution, barrier coverage)

•   Resource Allocation (cloud, data centre networks)

•   Social Networks (IR, diversified search, flow analysis)
