Dr Guillaume Vétu is an Adjunct Fellow in the School of Humanities at the University of Adelaide. His PhD, ‘Beyond the Tree of the Living-dead: A Rhizoanalysis of Japanese Cinematic Zombies’ (2021) explores the proliferation of this genre in Japan and its multifaceted, folkloric, cultural and societal, domestic and transnational interconnectivities; all from which his current research in Media, Screen Studies and Popular Culture expands. Dr Vétu also teaches Media and Film Studies and assists his peers with other research projects.Alongside his academic activities, Dr Vétu is an active community radio broadcaster, worker and advocate.

PhD thesis 'Beyond the Tree of the Living-dead: a Rhizoanalysis of Japanese Cinematic Zombies' conferred in September 2021.

Guillaume is currently working on several publishing projects stemming from this research, including a comprehensive encyclopaedia of Japanese zombie films, assisting peers with their research and teaching courses with the Department of Media and the Department of English, Creative Writing & Film (School of Humanities).
