Grant Dewar.
As a registered and endorsed Health Psychologist, I engage in scientist-practitioner model of service delivery practice in the delivery of psychological skills to the needs of individuals, families and communities.
I have completed the requirements of a PhD and Master of Psychology (Clinical) as a well as a Master of Psychology (Health).

As a researcher, health psychologist, educator, health and safety and welfare adviser and a human resource professional, I apply evidence-based practice to assist people to gain skills which can help improve their quality of life and to better function to achieve their life goals.
I have a particular interest in developing new approaches allowing the effective application of psychological skills to real-life settings - one such area is self-forgiveness. In this area of focus, I hope to allow people in a variety of life settings to apply readily generalisable skills to important life challenges in areas such as:
• Dealing with life setbacks and adjusting to change
• getting unstuck from procrastination which prevents important life action
• living with chronic disease,
• recovering from the disabling grief of the experience of suicide

I am part of the lecturing team for Honours Psychology in Learning and Behaviour and have previously lectured at TAFE SA in OH&S now Work Health and Safety and recently tutored and lectured in psychology in Health and Lifespan Development and Learning and Behaviour
My practice as a Health Psychologist has a focus on: health promotion, treatment of chronic diseases, the treatment of anxiety, depression, and the treatment of alcohol and drug use.

I have successfully assisted a wide range of people in the community using a cooperative approach to psychological health. Community group include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQI community members, Immigrants and refugees, those experiences complex grief and PTSD, survivors of abuse and those seeking assistance with adjustment to societal, family, economic and employment challenges.
