Ms McBride is a research officer in HESRI, School of Public Health, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She was a member of the Stillbirth Centre for Research Excellence Care After Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Guidelines. She is a member of the Evidence Synthesis Taxonomy Initiative Advisory Board, the JBI Adelaide GRADE Centre, and the Research Integrity and Predatory Publishing in Evidence Reviews (RIPPER) working group. She has worked on several evidence synthesis projects within the team for the World Health Organisation.

Her PhD was focused on evaluating the use of domperidone and other galactagogues in clinical practice, particularly following preterm birth. She completed a Masters of Medical Science at the University of South Australia in 2019 where she examined the metabolism of medications in complicated pregnancies.
