A researcher, lecturer and engineer with background in computational geomechanics and constitutive modelling
for predicting large deformation and failure of geomaterials in civil, geotechnical and resources engineering.

Gia Dat Phan completed a master degree with a GPA of 99.11% with Executive Dean’s Recognition of Academic Excellence at the University of Adelaide. He also completed a PhD degree at the University of Adelaide with high-quality international papers and Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. 

Research interests of Gia Dat Phan are: 

  • Constitutive modelling of partially saturated soils. 
  • Computational solid and fluid mechanics in multiphase porous media.
