Dr Georgina Hughes is an early career pharmacist researcher and works as a Research Fellow at Adelaide University. Georgina's research uses real-world data to support quality use of medicines among older people who access aged care services. Georgina undertook her PhD with the University of South Australia and the Registry of Senior Australians. Her PhD used big data to explore the real-world use and safety of antidepressants among older people living in aged care homes. Georgina is passionate about improving care and overall outcomes for older people, and research that optimises the safe and effective use of medicines and pharmacists' roles in aged and healthcare systems.
