Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD - email supervisor to discuss availability.
I am a Senior lecturer in Fine Art and lecture in the first year Foundation course 3D FineArt Studio and Material and Processes , the second year course Specialisation 1 and the third year courses Studio A and Studio B in addition to supervising in the Honors and Masters programs.
In the glass workshop I teach a variety of glass techniques across courses including glassblowing ,casting methods, kiln forming and coldworking techniques.
The skills taught in these courses equip students with the necessary knowledge of how to work as professional emerging artists in the field of glass,or, if they are not specialising in glass, how they can intergrate the materiality of glass into their major studies such jewellery, sculpture, printing, ceramics, photography, painting, product design or architecture.
Gabriella Bisetto is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Adelaide University (formerly the University of South Australia), and a practising glass artist. Born on Wiradjuri Country in Griffith, NSW, Gabriella trained at the Canberra School of Art before relocating to Adelaide (Kaurna Country) to undertake the JamFactory Glass Studio Associate Program. She later worked as Production Manager of the JamFactory Glass Workshop and as a self-employed artist before joining Adelaide University where she still works.
Gabriella’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in the body—its fragility, complexity, and the quiet space between breath and being. Her work explores the tension between science, religion, and the visceral human form. In 2007, she was an invited speaker at Take a Deep Breath, a multidisciplinary conference at Tate Modern, London. She received the Australia Council Rome Residency in 2009 and was awarded the Tom Malone Prize for contemporary glass in 2016 and 2025.
With over three decades in the field, she has significantly contributed to contemporary glass and visual art in Australia, serving on boards for Ausglass, Asialink, and Create SA (formerly Arts SA). Her dedication to teaching was recognised with a UniSA Teaching Award (2016) and an Australian National Teaching Award (2017).
2025; Create SA grant to be mentorship with master craftsperson Luke Price, focusing on the technique of hand-poured silvered glass.
2026; Canberra Glassworks Artist Residency June/July 2026.
