Dr Gabriella Zizzo is a Research Fellow currently working across disciplines at the University of Adelaide. She is a former student of the University of Adelaide having completed her undergraduate and honours in Anthropology and her PhD in Gender Studies. Her research interests include intersections of gender and the sociology of health and wellbeing.
Gabriella has gained experience working in both the academic and non-for-profit sector contributing to applied qualitative research. She has worked with diverse and what might be considered ‘marginalised’ communities, incorporating feminist and decolonising methodologies.
Previously, she has worked on the qualitative component of a large, mixed method project on child wellbeing as well as contributing to Aboriginal-led research on contemporary understandings of gender and gender equity in Aboriginal communities in South Australia.
She is currently contributing to ethnographic research on the food and eating practices of families involved in a peer mentoring program and on women’s decision making factors around the use of substances to boost breast milk supply.
