His main academic position (salaried) is that of Associate Professor of Physical Anthropology at the Department of Anthropology (Katedra Antropologii) of the University of Łódź (Uniwersytet Łódzki), Poland (EU), where he is also a voting member of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection (Wydział Biologii i Ochrony Środowiska) and principal doctoral supervisor.
Among his other academic positions:
- at the University of Adelaide, Francesco Maria Galassi is ADJUNCT ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - Academic Level D (honorary) in the School of Biomedicine being affiliated with Emeritus Professor Maciej Henneberg's anatomy research group;
- he is also an Adjunct Professor (salaried) of Human Anatomy at the University of Bologna in the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences teaching at the Ravenna Campus in the master's degree programme in medicine and surgery (M.D.).
