Dr Foteini Pasenidou is a Lecturer in Disability and Education and Member of the Centre for Research in Educational and Social Inclusion (CRESI) at the University of South Australia. Dr Pasenidou's research plan aims to contribute towards conceptualisation and experience of school settings as inclusive whole school communities. It encompasses the following three major interrelated areas of investigation that contribute to the advancement of inclusive education as a systemic change: Exploring and identifying enablers and challenges to students’ inclusive education (included but not limited to students with disabilities) in early childhood, primary and secondary school settings; Acknowledging the role of multiple stakeholders in a society that fosters educational and social inclusion, Dr Pasenidou's research invites perspectives from students, parents/carers, educators, paraprofessionals, architects and policymakers actively engaging and empowering them as agents of change in their own context; Whole school, intersectional and interdisciplinary lenses are applied guiding participatory and transformative inquiries which enable interdisciplinary insights on the role of architecture - among others - in promoting inclusive education.
