Fatemeh is a PhD Candidate at Adelaide University with a background in clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, and nutritional epidemiology. Her research focuses on the role of modifiable dietary and lifestyle exposures during adolescence in breast density and future breast cancer risk.
Her research interests include nutritional epidemiology, adolescent nutrition, dietary patterns, breast cancer prevention, chronic disease prevention, and evidence synthesis. She has experience conducting systematic reviews, meta-analyses, dose–response meta-analyses, and observational epidemiological studies.
Fatemeh has contributed to 15+ peer-reviewed publications, including 6+ first-author publications, with 411+ citations and an h-index of 9. Her previous research has investigated dietary and lifestyle factors in relation to breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, colorectal cancer, gestational diabetes, obesity, and other chronic health outcomes.

PhD Research

Investigating Modifiable Exposures During Puberty and Their Relationship with Breast Density and Future Breast Cancer Risk

Adolescence is an important period of breast development and may represent a critical window during which modifiable dietary and lifestyle exposures influence future breast cancer risk. My PhD research investigates whether dietary and lifestyle factors during puberty are associated with breast density and subsequent breast cancer risk. The research uses nutritional epidemiology and longitudinal observational approaches to investigate these relationships and identify potentially modifiable factors relevant to breast cancer prevention.

Other Projects

Modifiable Factors During Puberty and Risk of Breast Cancer in Adulthood

This research program examines the association between modifiable lifestyle factors during puberty and breast cancer risk later in life. Using systematic review and meta-analysis approaches, the research synthesises epidemiological evidence on factors including physical activity, smoking, and alcohol consumption.

Dietary Factors and Chronic Disease

Previous research has investigated associations between dietary factors and chronic disease outcomes, including breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, colorectal cancer, gestational diabetes, and obesity, using systematic reviews, meta-analyses, dose–response analyses, and observational epidemiological methods.
