Dr Erinn Fagan-Jeffries

Grant-Funded Researcher (B)

School of Biological Sciences

Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology

Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD - email supervisor to discuss availability.

Erinn is an independent grant-funded researcher within the Invertebrate Systematics and Biodiversity lab. She leads a group researching the taxonomy and systematics of parasitoid wasps, in particular the superfamily Ichneumonoidea.

I lead the wasp systematics group within the Invertebrate Systematics and Biodiversity lab. My research focusses on the taxonomy of parasitoid wasps within Australia, including developing new methods for accelerating the rate at which we name and describe the 70% of Australia's insects which are undocumented.

I am passionate about engaging the community in the process of biodiversity discovery and taxonomy, and led the citizen science Insect Investigators, which partnered schools with taxonomists to discover and describe new species from their local area.

Student supervision: I am available to supervise Honours, Masters and PhD projects focusing on taxonomy and biodiversity of parasitoid wasps. Projects vary depending on the grants I currently hold - come and chat with me for current options.
