I teach psychological foundations, communication skills and foundations of health and wellbeing at the School of Allied Health. I am also a PhD student in the School of Psychology. I am supervised by Associate Professor Amanda Le Couteur and Professor Paul Delfabbro. Part-time working fathers represent a small proportion of fathers around the world and there is limited literature on this population worldwide. My research investigates how members of this niche group describe their experiences of working part-time and taking care of children. The main aim of the project is to shed light on the question of why more fathers do not embrace part-time work for child-care purposes, particularly in Australia. The research will contribute to the literature on fatherhood and masculinity by extending findings in Australia, where the existing literature is limited for this group.
