Dr Emma Gregan is the Head of Brass at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. She is also an Alliance Brass artist and plays Tutti Horn with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Emma has performed with many of the major Australian orchestras and is an active chamber musician, with experience across both modern and historical instruments. She is also a composer specialising in works for brass, with pieces performed across four continents. She is an active educator, appearing regularly as a guest tutor at national youth training programmes in addition to her teaching at the Elder Conservatorium. Emma is a strong advocate for community music programs and adult learning, serving as the Artistic Director of the Adelaide Horn Jam. She holds a PhD in Musicology and her research interests are centred around community music, amateurism, brass music and history, and music education.

Emma lectures in Classical Brass Technique and Repertoire and directs the Elder Conservatorium Brass Ensemble. She is also eligible to co-supervise MPhil and PhD candidates.
