Elyce Pate
Lecturer
Adelaide Nursing School
Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
Elyce is an Alumni of the Adelaide Nursing School graduating with the inaugural Undergraduate class in 2008. After completing her Undergraduate degree Elyce travelled to Christchurch, New Zealand and completed the 12 month Nursing Entry to Practice (NetP) Program. During this 12 months she was placed in the Paediatric Surgical ward and realised that Paediatrics was her path in life. Upon returning to Adelaide in 2009 she began working at the Women's and Children's Hospital Brookman Ward (now the Michael Rice Centre for Haematology Oncology) and worked there for the next decade. During this time she was able to hold many positions within the unit, the highlight of which was her role as Nurse Educator. It was in this decade that Elyce found her passion of caring for children and families and supporting Nurses to provide safe, timely and holistic family centered care.
Elyce began working at the Adelaide Nursing School in 2019 as a Clinical Lecturer, and in 2021 was promoted to Lecturer. She is currently the Year 3 Lead for the Bachelor of Nursing Program, and Course Coordinator for three 3rd year Undergraduate nursing courses.
In her spare time she wrangles a 7 year old and an elderly dog, enjoys a good book and attends parkrun every Saturday to offset her love of food and coffee.
