Ellen is an experienced and motivated APA Titled Musculoskeletal physiotherapist with diverse roles and accomplishments across public, private and university settings. Her objective is to work collaboratively with patients, students, colleagues, and the public to enhance health literacy and facilitate lifelong changes which promote whole body health.

Following a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from University of South Australia in 2013, she completed a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy in 2019. She went on to receive both the Marie Hammond Postgraduate Award & Patricia Trott Prize for the highest academic achievement across the theoretical and clinical courses.

Her experience across a diverse range of roles has fuelled her enthusiasm for translating complex concepts into more digestible stories, resources and presentations for students, patients and colleagues. Her passion for education led her to become a Lecturer at the University of South Australia (now Adelaide University), with a teaching-focus in clinical reasoning, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, pain science and therapeutic exercise prescription since 2018.

As an educator she aims to facilitate a passion & commitment to life-long learning, personal & professional growth, ethical professional practices and scholarly values in her student, including self-evaluation and critical reflection. Her qualifications and clinical experience have led her to working with a diverse group of people and provided her advanced skills in managing chronic pain and musculoskeletal injuries. Clinically, Ellen continues to work with the Kakarrara Wilurarra Health Alliance (KWHA), flying regulary with a specialist medical team to improve access to care for remote Aboriginal communities.

Her ambition as a physiotherapist is to make herself redundant by empowering patients and providing them with the knowledge, resources and tools to facilitate lifelong changes in whole body health, and support them on their road to recovery or self-management.

Ellen is actively involved in the physiotherapy profession and passionate about education. Ellen previously sat on the South Australian Pain Group Committee for the Australian Physiotherapy Association, and worked with the SA Health Pain Management Unit developing educational resources for staff and clients. She continues to create educational resources as an infographic coordinator for Clinical Edge.

Ellen believes in life-long learning both professionally and personally. She enjoys taking on new challenges and opening herself up to a variety of experiences. She has been fortunate to travel extensively overseas, and in her spare time she loves ballroom dancing, martial arts, hiking or circus skills.
