An enthusiastic researcher, former librarian and teacher, passionate about adding bibliotherapy to the integrative oncology toolkit and seeing it offered alongside art and music therapies as an evidence-based complementary therapy. My ground-breaking PhD research grew from front-line observations, a dedication to making a substantive difference to others and a desire to implement a real-word solution to relieving some of the pain and distress that often accompanies cancer diagnosis and treatment, while catering for the impact of cancer-related cognitive impairment. Inveterate supporter of developing a love of reading and learning in others.

Brighter with books: Co-designing a reading intervention to improve emotional wellbeing in children with cancer.

Working with other research staff at UniSA and Flinders Uni, clinicians, teachers and volunteers at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, to co-design and trial a bibliotherapy program for children with cancer and their families. Thanks to a Channel 7 Children's Research Foundation grant, this research will extend my recent PhD study with adults undergoing cancer treatment.
