Elio Arruzza is a Lecturer and Research Academic in Medical Radiation Science, and the Stream Coordinator in Medical Imaging at the University of South Australia. Elio also practices clinically as a Radiographer across private and public departments across Adelaide.
Elio's area of interest is improving health outcomes for patients through use of medical imaging, and advancing medical imaging education. He is particularly interested in developing and evaluating the feasibility of diagnostic imaging protocols, and how health professionals use artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice.
Elio is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), researching how Parkinson’s disease changes the appearance of certain brain regions. Elio's Master of Research (Health Sciences) focused on the diagnostic accuracy of CT and ultrasound for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis.
