Dr Ecushla Linedale
Adjunct Lecturer
Adelaide Medical School
Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
I hold a PhD in Medicine (UofA), entitled "Issues in the Diagnosis and Management of Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders: The Development of a Novel Clinical Pathway”. My research interests lie in the intersecting areas of psychology and healthcare system design and evaluation. I am motivated to facilitate improvements in models of care, equity of access, and quality of life for patients.
My current research projects focus on:
1) Economic analysis of models of care for irritable bowel syndrome
2) Current clinical approaches, beliefs and attitudes towards the diagnosis and management of functional gastrointestinal disorders
3) Assessing referral and treatment pathways, hospital resource use and patient outcomes for patients referred to the RAH with iron deficiency or iron deficiency anaemia, and missed opportunities.
I am supervising Honours students with projects on the lay-persons understanding of the gut-brain axis and the development of self-management website for people with functional gastrointestinal disorders.
