Dirk Boehe's research interests focus on export and internationalization strategies as well as CSR and Corporate Governance in international business.

He received several awards for his research, such as the
- Temple/AIB best paper award, Academy of International Business (AIB), Nagoya, Japan;
- George Stigler Prize for research excellence, 2010 - 2. place, Insper, São Paulo, Brazil.
- Best paper in Strategic Management award, Brazilian Academy of Management Meeting (EnANPAD), 2007,
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
- Best reviewer award, Academy of Management Meeting 2007, Philadelphia, USA, International Management Division;
- Best paper from an under-represented country award, Academy of Management Meeting 2006, Atlanta, USA, International Management Division.
