My primary research focus is lucid dreaming. In a lucid dream, the dreamer realises that they are dreaming and can then explore and even control the dream. Lucid dreaming has a wide range of potential benefits and applications such as creative problem solving, treatment for recurrent nightmares and improvement of motor skills through rehearsal in the dream environment (e.g. for elite athletes or people recovering from physical trauma). However, there has been very little scientific exploration of the potential applications of lucid dreaming. I have also conducted research to investigate whether mindfulness meditation and loving-kindness meditation can help people feel more connected to humanity and to the natural world. More information about my research, including current experiments, can be found on my website: www.DrAdventureHeart.com
