Mrs Darlene Archer has over 35 years experience in nursing working in a variety of settings and in a variety of roles. Her clinical areas of speciality include Emergency nursing, Paediatric nursing and Allergy nursing.  Darlene has over 10 years' experience working in an academic setting involved in the education of both undergraduate and post graduate students.
Darlene has completed a Masters In Nursing Education (2021).  Her research interests included the use of non clinical skills in detecting a deterioration in adult patients and Reducing preoperative anxiety in paediatric surgical patients. She is in the process of her first publication around adult deterioration. 
Darlene is a PhD candidate with research interests  around Pain assessment as a social transaction - exploring how currunt curriculum may enhance students' understaning for clinical practice.
