I am a PhD student in the field of optics, specializing in multimode optical fibers, fibre sensing and fibre amplifiers. My current work is with a high power, multimode, 1550nm Er/Yb fibre amplifier, employing a novel wavefront shaping technique for nonlinear effect suppression and output beam shaping.
Previous work of mine has focussed on multimode optical fibre sensing, looking at temperature sensing with specialty optical fibres such as suspended core and sapphire crystal fibre.
