I am a PhD candidate studying the surface and subsurface morphology of the Naracoorte Cave World Heritage Area. My research will focus on developing models of the area from LiDAR scanning inside the cave system and matching that with aerial LiDAR scans of the surface area. These models will enable analysis of the cave system in relation to land surface, morphology, vegetation cover and agricultural use, management of the cave area, identification of potential new cave entrances and fossil sites and analysis of the data for insights into the fossil accumulation methods in the caves.
