Centre for Automotive Safety Research

Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences

Craig has over 25 years of experience in the road safety research area. He conducted the studies that quantified the relationship between speed and injury crash risk that were used as key evidence for lowering the default speed limits around Australia. He has evaluated numerous speed limit reduction countermeasures and has been tracking and analysing vehicle speeds in South Australia since 2002. He has also conducted studies examining the crash experience of newly licensed drivers and has examined the role of road side hazards in crashes.
