Dr Colin Ireland is the Program Director for the Bachelor of Nursing within Clinical & Health Sciences at the University of South Australia. As Program Director for the Bachelor of Nursing, Colin is responsible for the provision of academic leadership in the planning, management, development, quality assurance and improvement, and growth of the academic program. Colin oversees the quality delivery of its courses, the maintenance of curriculum integrity, and provides leadership and support to academic staff and teaching teams to ensure students have the best quality teaching and learning experience.
Colin is an experienced Registered Nurse who has worked in a variety of clinical settings, most recently with an emergency care background. 
Colin's PhD developed a risk prediction model for the early identification of Barrett's oesophagus, a condition of the oesophagus that has the potential to mutate to adenocarcinoma.
Colin's research focus is on providing better choices and outcomes for people to make informed decisions.
