Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD (as Co-Supervisor) - email supervisor to discuss availability.
Christiane studied mechanical engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, focusing on material science and tribology related researches. In 2009 she started working for the RWTH Aachen University at the Surface Engineering Institute as a Project Engineer in the Thermal Spray group. At the same time, she did her doctorate in which she developed a material for arc spraying of offshore wind turbines that is more corrosion resistant than standard materials used today. Subsequently, in 2014 Christiane took up a position as a Product Manager Coatings at the global company Castolin Eutectic where she was responsible for the Coatings Products, including feedstock materials, equipment and coating services.
Since 2017 she is employed as Research Fellow: Wear and Corrosion Resistant Materials in the Coatings Group within the Future Industries Institute at University of South Australia. She works there as a specialist for thick wear and corrosion resistant coatings, thermal spraying, laser cladding and weld overlays for applications in heavy industries like mining, steel, agriculture, energy, oil & gas.
