Dr Chris Krolikowski is Program Coordinator for Tourism and Event, Sport and Recreation, and Art and Cultural Management, and an expert in urban tourism. His research focuses on tourism, events, and place-based development, with particular interests in urban regeneration, placemaking, sustainability, and overtourism. Drawing on experience across academia and industry, he develops interdisciplinary research with practical relevance for industry, community, and policy stakeholders, examining the role of tourism, events, arts, and culture in shaping places and resilient destinations.
 
Chris has extensive experience in curriculum and course design within the Australian higher education sector, including the development of blended and online learning environments. Supported by postgraduate studies in digital learning, he works closely with industry partners to create engaging learning experiences that foster student engagement, critical thinking, and authentic learning. His teaching initiatives and course designs have been recognised by TALAS (Teaching and Learning All Stars) for best practice in pedagogy, design, and learner engagement.
 
He maintains an active research and service profile as a reviewer for leading journals, including Tourism Management, and is a member of C-EDGE, CAUTHE, EATSA, and HERN. Chris also mentors PhD students locally and internationally. Most recently, he led a research team awarded the UniSA Unstoppable Learning Development Grant (2026–2028) to support innovative digital learning approaches that enhance equity, access, and student success.
