Chloe Cannell is a Lecturer in the Common Core: a suite of interdisciplinary courses committed to transformative education. She is a member of the leadership team for Fact or Fiction: Data for Everyone. 
 
She has taught courses in creative arts, ethics, education, cultural studies, screen studies, and gender and sexuality studies.
 
Her research interests are collaborative creative practice, queer and feminist stories, diversity in young adult literature, and creativity with young people. Her PhD (University of South Australia, 2024) explored the challenges of writing underrepresented LGBTQIA+ characters in contemporary young adult fiction with a focus on intersectionality.
 
Chloe is a founding member of the Critically Creative Reading and Writing Collective. Each month, a different group member or special guest develops a workshop based on their areas of interest in creative practice research. The creative activities are often collaborative and shared during the workshops, and sometimes turn into journal articles or creative artefacts. We meet monthly at the Magill campus.
