Cherise has a Bachelor of Biotechnology with Honours, as well as a Bachelor of Midwifery (pre-registration) both from Flinders University. She has research experience in reproductive biology and has clinical care experience working as a midwife in SA, the ACT and NSW. Cherise joined the Betterstart research team in 2018 commencing a PhD. Her PhD is exploring smoking cessation in pregnancy, with a geographical focus in northern Adelaide. She is supervised by Professor Lisa Smithers, Dr. Angela Gialamas and Dr. Elizabeth Hoon.
