My research areas include mathematical & statistical modelling in biology and medicine, bioinformatics, statistical genetics, biostatistics and applied mathematics. Specifically, the topics are mainly on classification and cluster analysis of biological sequence or clinical data, modelling and analysis of next generation sequencing (NGS) data, computational molecular evolution and phylogenetics, genetic epidemiology (GWAS/rare variant analysis), gene prediction/finding, and metagenomics.

Since all my degrees were awarded from mathematics and statistics, I underwent very strict training in both pure and applied areas. This helps me independently develop many novel methods to solve real problems in multi-disciplinary domains. I have so far published 28 papers (27 research ones, 1 review) in reputed international journals (up to 15/07/2017). I held first authorship for 15 of those 28 papers and correspondence authorship for 8 of those 28 papers.

Some theoretical journals I published on include Information Sciences, International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, Fractals, Nonlinear Dynamics, Journal of Theoretical Biology, Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, etc. I have also published on applications related journals such as DNA Research, PLoS ONE, Molecular Psychiatry, Scientific Reports, Translational Psychiatry, The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, etc.

I love collaborating on academic research. If you have some data and could not find interesting or expected results using traditional methods, perhaps we could try some new computational approaches. Sometimes, that would unexpectedly work!
